Todd…Kel…family….what a wonderfully touching tribute to the daughter of grace which was – and still is – Kenzie. I’ve been wanting to write you both ever since I heard of her death but I couldn’t quite put all the words – or find all of them – swarming in my head down and express to you what I had been feeling for you and about her. Her death has truly touch my deepest soul and I wish I could’ve been there to give you jillions of hugs and share in the tears and yet peaceful joy and delight knowing her beautiful dance is before the most ultimate audience. Wow.
Know that there is not a day goes by that I’m thinking and praying for you and your family. I am so glad you are surrounded by an overflowing abundance of love and support. Just wish I could be there physically to lend mine to the pile…it will have to suffice remotely for now.
The week Kenzie died coincidentally I received my shipment of Michael W. Smith’s latest worship CD which has a song on it with the African Children’s Choir singing “When I think of You I see you dancing, you’re dancing…” Almost every song on that CD I could somehow place Kenzie in it. If you’re not familiar with the CD (which I’m sure you are) but to boot, the CD is recorded live in Houston. Oh goodness…I could even place her in the crowd at his concert!
Well, much love and hugs are sent your way. I am so thankful for your posts Todd…keep them coming and healing will keep continuing.
Loving you bunches,
Your sister in Christ and friend…Ruthie.
Ruth,
thanks so much for the email.
Guess What… we were in the audience at the Michael W. Smith concert. we were really close to the stage and can see us on the DVD. i just was listening to that song and my other favorite, “your Grace”

That song is so beautiful. Kenzie has inspired so many people. I am just sad. Whe u told me about when you and makenzie would see me and she would say, “That’s Becca!” I cried even more. We are only like 3 minutes away from each other and I felt like we were thousands of miles away from each other. My only regret was not getting to spend much time with her. I really only saw her at rafa. I miss her so much. I know you do too. God will help us heal one step at a time.
love always,
Becca
My daughter attends Lutheran South. I have felt a loss for everyone that knew MacKenzie and what she stood for. I am a dancer as well. I have watched my life pass me by. I feel that I need to stand up and be counted. We all have a plan and if I can inspire with song or praise dance then that is what I need to do. Thank you for this beautiful tribute. I would love to use this at my church if at all possible.
Thanks,
Kim Mehne
Kim,
Thank you for the nice message. Makenzie is dancing in Heaven for her Lord and we’ll see her again!
Please feel free to use this at your church.
Blessings!
Todd
