We often pray for God to watch over & protect us. First, it's ok to think of Him watching over us, but we also need to remember that His Spirit is already living inside of us. Second, God cannot say "Yes" to protecting us at all times & in all situations. He didn't do it for Stephen or Paul in Acts or for countless other martyrs. Thankfully, He didn't even do it for His own Son. Instead, the prayer God WILL always say "Yes" to is "God, use me to further the mission of spreading your name & fame to the ends of the earth." God loved Makenzie & He was there when the angels carried her home, but He chose not to protect her because He knew how her story would further the mission. And so my prayer for you in Houston & Ecuador is "God, continue to show the Stocker family that You are with them in this storm & use them to further Jesus' mission of saving Your children whom You love."
